“Huh? Sorry. I was spacing out. What was that?” Gavin quietly asked and then took another drink from his beer.
“Like I was saying,” Coval said starting over. “What they don’t understand is that there is no way that something as large as our government can be controlled by a single group. It’s just too big.”
“Sure, it’s big,” Gavin replied as he looked into his now empty beer glass wishing that it wasn’t so empty. “I guess,” remembering the desire for beer, “I guess I don’t care enough to argue with you about this. I need a fluid exchange,” and he got up from the table.
“What do you think?” Coval asked to Rhys, as if Rhys was paying any attention at all while he was engaged in some chat conversation through his phone.
Rhys paused what he was doing and looked up from his phone, “Y’all are boring as shit” and he drank what was left of the whiskey in front of him. Then he stood up and walked out the door.
